Birth of Shibu Soren and '4'

Shibu Soren was born in the year 1944 in Nemra village of Ramgarh district. This year has '4' twice. His real name was Shivlal Soren. It has 4 letters (Shi-va-la-la). Later when he became active in social movements, this name was shortened to 'Shibu' Soren. Along with the 3 pillars of struggle, organization and service, there was an invisible fourth pillar '4'.

Establishment of JMM: 4 February 1973

The next big turning point in Guruji's life came on 4 February 1973. On this day, he along with Binod Bihari Mahto and AK Roy formed Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) . Although the movement started in 1972 and the direction of the initial formation of JMM was decided at that time, but the formal formation of the party and recognition from the Election Commission was received in 1973. This organization started the movement for a separate Jharkhand state. It raised the voice of tribal interests at the national level. Its date was 4 February.

The coincidence of number 4 remained in Guruji's life till his death. He said goodbye to this world on 4 August 2025. It is also a coincidence that Dishom Guru Shibu Soren had 4 children. One daughter and 3 sons. The eldest son Durga Soren died in the year 2009.
