27 people were killed in the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on Tuesday afternoon. More than 20 people are injured. The attack was carried out when a large number of tourists were present in Baisaran Valley. Among the dead are tourists from UP, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Odisha. One tourist each from Nepal and UAE and 2 locals were also killed.

This is the biggest attack in Jammu and Kashmir after the Pulwama attack on 14 February 2019. There was a suicide attack on the CRPF convoy in Pulwama, in which 40 soldiers were martyred. Jaish-e-Mohammed took responsibility for this.
