The victim could not identify them, the court granted bail
All of them got bail from the Haveri Sessions Court when the victim could not clearly identify them in the court. But the kind of 'victory procession' that was taken out after getting bail has raised serious questions about the law. There is anger in the entire Haveri district due to the incident of the accused taking out a victory procession.
When and how did the incident happen?
The case dates back to January 2024, when the victim alleged that she was gang-raped. She and her partner, who were in an inter-religious relationship, were staying at the hotel where the accused attacked them. The woman was then forcibly taken out of the hotel, abused and then dumped near a lodge.
Shocking facts revealed in the investigation The
investigation also revealed that some of the accused have already been involved in cases of violence and moral policing. Recently a new video has surfaced in which the scenes of kidnapping and assault of the victim can be seen. Although no formal complaint has been lodged on this new video so far, the police is investigating it and it is possible that action may be taken suo moto.
