Delhi BS 6 Vehicles: Amidst rising pollution, the Delhi government has taken this decision. Vehicles below BS-6 have been ordered to leave Delhi by tomorrow night.
These vehicles are banned from entering Delhi from December 18, and petrol and diesel will also not be available.
Starting December 18th, entry of vehicles below BS-6 diesel will be completely banned in Delhi. Only vehicles with Delhi registration will be allowed. Private vehicles with out-of-state registration will not be allowed to enter Delhi. Vehicles without a pollution-clearing PUCC certificate will not be available for petrol and diesel at petrol pumps starting December 18th. Delhi Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa announced this. Sirsa said that trucks carrying construction materials will be heavily fined and their vehicles will be confiscated.
I apologize to the people of Delhi – Sirsa
Minister Sirsa said, “I apologize to the people of Delhi. I want to say that it is impossible for any government to completely clean up pollution in 9-10 months. But Delhiites, I want to tell you that we have done better than the Aam Aadmi Party government and have reduced the daily AQI. Only if we continue to reduce it in this manner will it be possible to provide clean air to Delhi.”
This is the disease of Aam Aadmi Party and Congress – Minister
He further said, “This is the disease of 10-11 years of Aam Aadmi Party and 15 years of Congress. I want to ask Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi where were your masks last year. There was more pollution last year. There were dirtier days last year… There is definitely pollution in Delhi and we are working to fix it.”
9 crore 21 lakh rupees fine
The minister said that DPCC has imposed fines of ₹9.21 crore on polluters. All departments are working properly. We have provided 10,000 electric heaters to guards in Delhi to prevent them from burning wood. He added that strict action has also been taken against diesel generators in Delhi.
