Cortisol levels (a stress hormone) rise, platelets become stickier (which increases the likelihood of blood clots), and blood pressure rises sharply.

This triple effect means your heart is working harder than normal, and this pressure increases as time goes on. Dr. Bhojraj explained that heart attacks and sudden cardiac deaths are highest between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m., and then decrease around 5-6 p.m.

Morning habits that harm your heart

Dr. Bhojraj warns that the way you start your morning can increase your risk of heart disease. Some such dangerous morning habits include:
