UP SIR: Has voter turnout decreased in these 10 Muslim-majority districts of UP? The figures will trouble political parties!

SIR in Uttar Pradesh: The vote-loss figures in the top ten Muslim-majority districts of Uttar Pradesh are surprising. According to the draft, these districts also saw an average vote loss comparable to the state as a whole.

The draft of the Special Intensive Revision of the voter list in Uttar Pradesh has revealed shocking figures. The SIR process has resulted in the deletion of approximately 28.9 million voters in Uttar Pradesh. The figures show that Muslim-majority areas in the state have seen a similar number of votes deleted as other districts.

According to media reports, Muslims constitute approximately 19.26% of Uttar Pradesh's total population. However, there are ten districts in the state where the Muslim population ranges from 33% to 50%. Muslim voters determine victory and defeat in these constituencies. Rampur district has the highest Muslim population at 50.57%

These percentages of votes were cut in Muslim-majority districts.

Rampur, along with Moradabad, Bijnor, Saharanpur, Muzaffarnagar, Amroha, Balrampur, Bareilly, Meerut, and Bahraich are among the top ten Muslim-populated districts in the state. According to the draft SIR data, these ten districts also experienced an average decline of 18.75% in voter turnout, which is almost equal to the statewide figure (18.70%).

This clearly means that the average number of voters deleted from the SIR across the state is roughly the same in Muslim-majority states. Let's take a look at the number of Muslims and the number of voters deleted from the SIR in these top 10 Muslim-majority districts.
