A disturbing incident from Shahjahanpur has brought attention to a deeply troubling case involving a minor and a close family member. Authorities say a 16-year-old girl went missing after an alleged late-night incident at her home in the Khutar area, and her father later attempted suicide due to emotional distress.

According to reports, the situation unfolded late at night when the girl’s mother noticed unusual activity and woke up the family. During a search of the room, a relative (the girl’s maternal uncle, who is also related through the father’s side of the family) was allegedly found hiding. He reportedly fled the scene after pushing family members and escaping in the dark.

In the early hours of the morning, the teenager was also found missing. This led the family to suspect that she had been taken away. The situation caused severe emotional trauma within the household.

The girl’s father, reportedly overwhelmed by shock and distress, consumed a poisonous substance. He was rushed to a nearby health centre and later referred to a district hospital, where his condition remains critical.

Police acted quickly after receiving the complaint. A case has been registered under relevant sections, including kidnapping. With the help of surveillance teams, the minor was traced and recovered safely later the same day. Her medical examination and statement recording are underway as part of the investigation.

The accused individual is currently absconding, and police teams are conducting raids to locate him.
