Very few people would know that every valid LPG connection gets 'accidental insurance' of up to Rs 50 lakh. Today we are going to give you information in this regard. Consumers get this benefit under a collective agreement between petroleum companies and insurance companies. Its special feature is that consumers do not have to pay any extra premium to get the claim. Financial assistance is provided to consumers in case of property damage, physical injury and death caused due to insurance cylinder explosion or gas leakage. Under this, the insurance amount is divided into different categories.

This is how the benefits are received:
In case of death due to an accident, coverage of up to ₹6 lakh per person and up to ₹2 lakh per person for medical treatment in case of injury (maximum ₹30 lakh per incident). In case of damage to a house or property due to a cylinder blast, compensation of up to ₹2 lakh is provided. However, to avail this claim, people must comply with several conditions.

-To avail the benefits of insurance, safety standards have to be followed.

The gas connection must be registered in the consumer's name, and the cylinder must be from the same company.

- The gas pipe (hose) and regulator in the connection must always be ISI-marked. Failure to do so may result in the claim being rejected.

Immediately after the accident, you must inform the local police and the concerned gas agency in writing. Only after doing so will you receive your claim.
