The 8th Pay Commission has announced its schedule for meetings with employee associations, trade unions, and pensioners in Delhi and Chandigarh. These consultations are part of the Commission's exercise to gather feedback on salaries, pensions, allowances, and other service-related matters before finalising its recommendations.

The discussions will begin in Delhi in August, followed by meetings in Chandigarh in September.

Delhi meeting schedule

The Commission will hold stakeholder meetings in New Delhi on August 7 and August 10, 2026.

Only eligible organisations can participate in these meetings. Applicants must:

• Have already submitted their memorandum to the Commission.

• Not have previously interacted with the Commission in Delhi or any other state or Union Territory.

• Mention the Unique Memo ID received after submitting the memorandum.

The last date to apply for the Delhi meetings was July 31, 2026. The Commission will separately communicate the venue and timings to eligible participants.

Chandigarh meeting details

The next round of consultations will take place in Chandigarh from September 16 to 18, 2026.

The following stakeholders are eligible to apply:

• Central Government employee organisations

• Union Territory employee associations

• Employee unions

• Pensioners and pensioners' associations

• Stakeholders from Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Chandigarh

Applicants must also provide their Unique Memo ID while submitting their request.

Key dates for the Chandigarh meetings

• Meeting dates: September 16–18, 2026

• Venue: Chandigarh

• Application deadline: August 25, 2026

• Required document: Unique Memo ID issued after submission of the memorandum

The Commission will announce the exact venue and meeting schedule separately.

More consultations planned across India

The 8th Pay Commission has confirmed that similar stakeholder meetings will be organised in other states and Union Territories over the coming months.

Employee associations, unions, and pensioner groups outside Delhi-NCR will be able to request meetings in their respective states, Union Territories, or nearby locations. The Commission said that future schedules will be published on its official website.

Deadline for employee data extended

In a separate update, the Commission has extended the deadline for ministries, government departments, and Union Territories to upload employee data on its online data collection portal.

The new deadline is July 31, 2026, following requests from several departments seeking additional time to complete the process.
