In a video released by news agency ANI, he was seen getting out of his car wearing a green shirt, dark glasses, and a mask. His lawyer was also present with him. The mask and glasses clearly indicated an attempt to conceal his identity.
This case is related to an illegal betting app, which is being linked to money laundering. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is conducting a thorough investigation into the matter and has questioned several celebrities. Prior to Sonu Sood, former Indian cricketers Robin Uthappa and Yuvraj Singh have also appeared before the ED in this case. In recent weeks, former cricketers Suresh Raina, Shikhar Dhawan, Trinamool Congress MP and actress Mimi Chakraborty, Bollywood actress Urvashi Rautela, and Bengali actor Ankush Hazra have also been questioned in this case.
