Adulterated Sweets on Diwali News: During Diwali, Dhanteras, and other festivals, the market is flooded with adulterated food. A joint team of the Special Task Force (STF) and the Food and Drug Administration (FSDA) raided and destroyed sweets and tofu.

Lucknow: In order to crack down on food adulteration during Diwali and Dhanteras festivals in the capital, teams from the Food and Drug Administration (FSDA) and the Special Task Force (STF) launched a large-scale operation on Friday. During a raid at a firm in Vrindavan Yojna (Vrindavan Yojna) in the presence of the STF, 135 kg of tofu (soy paneer) was destroyed due to poor quality. 1600 kg of semolina barfi and halwa, which were being produced in violation of standards, were destroyed at a home-based enterprise in Sarosa-Bharosa. FSDA teams also collected samples of eight food items and sent them to the laboratory for testing.

According to STF officials, the raid was conducted in collaboration with the FSDA at Narayan Foods Products in Vrindavan Yojna following information about the production of counterfeit paneer. According to FSDA CFSO JP Singh, the product found to be adulterated, not soy paneer (tofu). The FSW investigation revealed that 135 kg of tofu was destroyed after standards were violated.

1600 kg of sweets destroyed

The second team of FSDA raided the Aryash Home Industry located at Sarosa Bharosa in Kakori. Milk Burfi, Doda Burfi, Finger Burfi, Sohan Halwa and other sweets were found being made from semolina on the spot. 1600 kg of sweets were destroyed after it was confirmed that alum, palm oil, colour and other banned ingredients were mixed in the Burfi prepared from semolina. FSDA Assistant Commissioner II VP Singh said that
sweets worth about Rs 1,93,420 were destroyed on Friday in Vrindavan Yojana and Sarosa-Bharosa. Along with destruction, samples have also been taken and sent for testing.

The raids continued till late night

FSDA teams continued to raid several establishments in Dubagga and Kakori until late into the night. Sources say eight FSDA teams remained engaged in the investigation until late at night. In addition, extensive searches and sample collections were also conducted in several other areas.
