Chaitanyananda Saraswati, the former manager of a South Delhi institute, is accused of spying on female students by installing cameras in their rooms. He would watch live footage on his mobile phone and invite the female students to his home. He would threaten to withhold their degrees if they resisted. Police are searching for him, but he remains at large. Ten police teams are engaged in his search.

Chaitanyananda Saraswati, former manager of Sri Sharda Institute of Indian Management and Research, Vasant Kunj in South Delhi, had installed cameras in the hostel corridors, outside the girls' rooms and bathrooms, to keep an eye on the girl students.

Chaitanyananda constantly watched live footage from these cameras on his mobile phone and monitored the students' activities. Approximately 75 students pursuing management courses lived in the hostel. Chaitanyananda also maintained his own residence on the same campus.

It is alleged that he would force female students to come to his room late at night. Police also recovered a BMW iX electric car belonging to Chaitanyananda Saraswati on Thursday.

During the investigation, the police seized the DVRs and hard disks of the CCTV cameras installed in the hostel for examination. According to sources, several footages were tampered with and deleted.

According to the FIR lodged at the Vasant Kunj North police station, the accused, Chaitanyananda, would frequently call female students to his room at night and threaten to withhold their degrees if they disobeyed. This caused the students to suffer mental stress. The police investigation is also implicating an associate dean of the institute.

The students allege that Chaitanyananda pressured them to comply with his unreasonable demands. They also allege that they were not allowed to meet their parents. Even if a parent did visit, they were intimidated to the point where they were unable to tell them anything.

Ten police teams are searching

According to the police, ten police teams are conducting raids in several states across North India in search of the accused, Chaitanyananda. To avoid arrest, Chaitanyananda is not using his mobile phone or conducting any transactions through his bank account. This is why the police have not been able to locate him yet.

According to police sources, he has been untraceable since the case was filed against him. It is suspected that he has even changed his appearance. Police investigations revealed that he was in Mumbai some time ago. Police arrived there, but he had already left.
