The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has intensified its probe into the re-agent procurement scam in Chhattisgarh. Acting through its Raipur Zonal Office, the ED conducted raids in Durg, leading to the seizure of two luxury cars — a Porsche Cayenne Coupe and a Mercedes-Benz. Both vehicles are registered under a firm named Mokshit Corporation, and were being used by Shashank Chopra and his father Shantilal Chopra.
The Case at a Glance
The ED’s action stems from an FIR filed by the ACB and EOW Raipur against Mokshit Corporation and several senior officials of the Chhattisgarh Medical Services Corporation Limited (CGMSCL) and the Directorate of Health Services (DHS). The FIR alleges criminal conspiracy and corruption in the procurement of medical equipment and re-agents.
Investigations suggest that Shashank Chopra, in collusion with certain officials, manipulated tender processes, raised false demand, and supplied equipment at inflated prices. This allegedly caused heavy losses to the state exchequer while benefitting the accused.
Previous Action
This is not the first time ED has moved against the accused. On 30 July 2025, the agency had carried out raids in the same case, seizing assets worth over ₹40 crore, including luxury vehicles like a Mini Cooper and a Toyota Fortuner, also linked to Mokshit Corporation.
Ongoing Probe
So far, property worth several crores along with multiple luxury vehicles have been seized in the case. The ED has stated that the investigation is ongoing, and more major revelations are expected as the probe deepens.
