Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Tuesday interacted with leading investors and industrialists in Kolkata, urging them to explore business opportunities in his state. He said Madhya Pradesh offers favorable conditions for every sector and assured that the government would fully support businesses and investments.
Addressing an ‘Interactive Session on Investment Opportunities in Madhya Pradesh’, Dr. Yadav highlighted the state’s new policies, infrastructure, and peaceful environment as major advantages. “If you wish, you can run your business in Madhya Pradesh while sitting in Bengal. The government will take care of your investment,” he said.
Kolkata’s historic role
The Chief Minister underlined Bengal’s historic contribution to India’s growth, recalling Swami Vivekananda, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, and Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee. He added that India under Prime Minister Modi is carving out a new global identity through self-reliance and Swadeshi, with Madhya Pradesh implementing 18 new investment-oriented policies.
Madhya Pradesh: an ‘island of peace’
Promoting his state as a secure and business-friendly destination, Dr. Yadav said, “There are no strikes in Madhya Pradesh. You set up a factory, it will run without disruption. The state’s central location ensures excellent connectivity in all directions.” He stressed on sectors like textiles, organic cotton, green energy, and technology, pointing to the upcoming PM Mitra Park in Dhar as a milestone for the textile industry.
Investors show interest
Several industrialists attending the session expressed confidence in Madhya Pradesh’s growth story.

BV Aggarwal, CMD of Shyam Metallics and Vice President of the Indian Chamber of Commerce, said the state is advancing rapidly in textiles, pharma, mining, and green energy, with over Rs 20,000 crore already invested in technology creating more than 1 lakh jobs.

Pratap Group Director Harsh Agarwal praised the world-class infrastructure and announced new investments worth Rs 4,000 crore.

Pawan Ruia, CMD of Ruia Group, said Madhya Pradesh is playing a significant role in India’s economic transformation and his group will expand its presence in the state.

KV Agarwal of Rupa & Company called the Chief Minister “very dynamic” and highlighted huge potential in the textile sector.
Dr. Yadav also held one-to-one meetings with RP Sanjiv Goenka Group Vice Chairman Shashwat Goenka, ICC Senior Vice President Brij Bhushan Agarwal, and Ambuja Nutia Healthcare Joint MD Parthiv, among others, to explore sector-specific opportunities.
