The central government is taking numerous welfare measures to empower women economically and make them self-reliant. Under the PM Vishwakarma Yojana, women are being provided free sewing machines and financial assistance to learn sewing and start their own businesses.

Main benefits of the scheme

Financial assistance of ₹ Financial assistance is provided by the government directly into the bank account for purchasing a sewing machine.

Free training and stipend: Women are given training in sewing and embroidery, during which they also get a daily allowance.

Certificate and easy loan: On completion of training, a certificate is given by the government, along with this, loan facility is also available at very low interest to expand the business.

Who can apply? (Eligibility)

To benefit from this scheme, women applicants must be between 18 and 40 years of age.
Women from economically weaker sections of society, both rural and urban, are eligible.
No member of the applicant's family should be in a government job.

Application process

First, visit the scheme's official website, pmvishwakarma.gov.in.
Click on the 'Register' or 'Apply Online' option on the homepage.
Complete the registration process using your mobile number and Aadhaar card.
Fill in all the required information correctly in the application form and upload your scanned documents.
After submitting the form, you will receive a registration number, which you should keep for future reference.
