Don't you want other people to know you're online while using WhatsApp? If so, you can easily hide your online status using WhatsApp's Privacy Settings. The advantage is that you can read messages and chat on WhatsApp, but other users won't see your online status.

What is WhatsApp Online Status?

When you open WhatsApp and are connected to the internet, the other person may see "Online" above your chat. Sometimes people don't want to respond immediately, but the other person sees that you're online and knows you're using WhatsApp. Hiding your online status can be very useful in these situations.

How to Hide Online Status

First, open WhatsApp on your phone. Tap the three dots in the top right corner and go to Settings.

Now open the Privacy option. Here you'll see the Last Seen and Online option. Tap on it.

You will now see two different settings: Who can see my last seen and Who can see when I'm online.

If you want to completely hide your online status, select Nobody under Last Seen. Then, select Same as last seen under Online Status.

Now when you use WhatsApp, the people from whom you have hidden this information will not be able to see your online status.

An important thing

Some things will still work as usual even after you change your WhatsApp privacy settings. However, if you hide your Last Seen and Online Status from others, you might not be able to see other people's Last Seen or Online Status.
