IPL 2025: Chaos in Mumbai-Hyderabad match… Klaasen made a big 'blunder', umpire called the batsman back from the pavilion

MI vs SRH: Hyderabad wicketkeeper Heinrich Klaasen made a big mistake, due to which the out batsman was called back to bat by the umpire.

Mumbai Indians vs Sunrisers Hyderabad, IPL 2025: The 33rd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 was played between five-time champion Mumbai Indians (MI) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). In this match played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, Hyderabad wicketkeeper Heinrich Klaasen made a big 'blunder', due to which the umpire had to call back the batsman who was given out.

Actually, spin bowler Zeeshan Ansari was bowling the 7th over of Mumbai Indians' innings. On the fifth ball of the over, Mumbai batsman Ryan Rickelton played a shot, which went straight into the hands of Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins. The umpire declared Rickelton caught out and he started returning to the pavilion.

However, the fourth umpire then found in the video replay that wicketkeeper Heinrich Klaasen's gloves were ahead of the stumps when the ball hit the bat. According to rule 27.3.1, if the wicketkeeper catches the ball in front of or in line with the stumps, it is declared a no-ball. Even though the ball did not come to Klaasen, his gloves were ahead of the stumps, so the ball was declared a no-ball and Rickelton was called back to bat.

Due to this rule, Ryan Rickelton got a reprieve, although he could not take much advantage of it. He added 10 more runs in total and then returned to the pavilion after being caught out by Travis Head on the ball of Harshal Patel.

Talking about the match, Mumbai Indians won this thrilling match by four wickets. Batting first, Sunrisers Hyderabad scored 162 runs for 5 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. In reply, Mumbai Indians achieved the target by losing 6 wickets in 18.1 overs.
