PFRDA: Pension regulator launches NPS Central, making account management easier; learn how to use it

The Public Sector Undertaking (PFRDA) has launched a unified digital platform called NPS Central, which will help National Pension System subscribers register, invest, and manage their pension accounts from a single location.

Pension regulator PFRDA has launched a new digital platform for National Pension System (NPS) subscribers, called NPS Central. This platform will help subscribers register, invest, and manage their pension accounts from a single location.

The PFRDA said this in a statement on Monday. The platform was launched on October 1, coinciding with NPS Day. It has been jointly developed and managed by the three Central Recordkeeping Agencies (CRAs) under the NPS. It brings all CRAs on a common digital interface, simplifying access to pension-related services across the NPS ecosystem, which includes CRAs, pension funds, and Points of Presence (POPs). This initiative is a significant step towards creating a more integrated, accessible, and customer-centric digital pension ecosystem.

What facilities will NPS Central provide?

NPS Central also facilitates registration for NPS Swasthya. It combines a dedicated investment fund with a super top-up health insurance scheme. This enhances access to healthcare-related services within the broader digital pension ecosystem. The platform will also facilitate integration with NPS ecosystem participants and existing NPS digital touchpoints.

What is the main goal of this initiative?

The primary goal of this platform is to simplify pension services for customers. It will enable them to better manage their pension accounts. PFRDA aims to create a digital environment that is accessible to all. This initiative is crucial towards bringing about a digital revolution in the pension sector.
