Thousands Gather in Betul After RSS Pracharak Assault; Five Arrested, Police Bring Situation Under Control

In Betul, Madhya Pradesh, an RSS pracharak was assaulted, sparking unrest in the city. The incident originated from a road accident involving two motorcycles in Multai tehsil—one belonging to an RSS volunteer. Two young men on the other bike attacked the volunteer, which quickly escalated as crowds from both sides gathered, leading to stone-pelting and vandalism.

RSS pracharak Shishupal Yadav was reportedly assaulted, prompting thousands of people to take to the streets. Even as the police intervened, the crowd tried to block police vehicles, burned tires, and created chaos. The Collector, Superintendent of Police Virendra Jain, SDM, and local police officials arrived to control the situation, and forces from across the district were deployed. Security was heightened throughout Multai, with patrolling continuing late into the night.

RSS Demands:
RSS worker Devraj Lokhande demanded immediate arrest of the accused and called for action against illegal land occupation in the area.

Police Statement:
SP Virendra Jain confirmed that an FIR has been filed and five individuals arrested. He stated, "The situation is under control. We urge both parties to maintain peace and prevent outsiders from entering the city. Strict action will be taken against any rumors or inflammatory activity."
