A bizarre situation unfolded in Ambedkar Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, where two senior police officials gave contradictory statements regarding the arrest of a history-sheeter accused of making indecent remarks against CM Yogi Adityanath and Hinduism.
While one officer claimed that the accused had already been arrested, the other stated that raids were still being conducted to nab him. This confusion within the police department has sparked discussions, especially after viral audio clips of the officers' statements surfaced.
The Controversial Incident

The case originated in the Akbarpur police station area, where Imtiaz, a local tea shop owner, filed a complaint against history-sheeter Saddam.
-
According to the complaint, Saddam and his associates were drinking alcohol on March 30 near Imtiaz's shop when they allegedly began abusing CM Yogi and Hindu religion.
-
During this, they also assaulted a passing sadhu, and a video of the attack went viral.
-
Following the incident, the police registered an FIR against Saddam and three others.
Police's Conflicting Statements
-
When asked about Saddam’s arrest on Wednesday, SP Keshav Kumar told the media that the accused had already been arrested.
-
However, ASP Vishal Pandey later contradicted this, stating that efforts were still underway to catch Saddam.

This contradiction went viral, raising questions about the police's internal coordination and credibility.
Current Status
After the controversy, the police finally arrested Saddam on Thursday, bringing an end to the confusion. The case remains under investigation, and the police are expected to take further legal action against all accused.
