Vaibhav Suryavanshi Narrowly Avoids Losing His Place on IPL Fastest Century List

Vaibhav Suryavanshi had a close call recently—his name was almost erased from the IPL’s fastest centuries record. You might wonder why this is being said about the India Under-19 squad member training in Bangalore. But rest assured, Vaibhav is performing well in the camp. His near miss is related to the updated list of IPL’s fastest centuries.

Heinrich Klaasen’s 37-Ball Century Shakes Up the Records

The IPL fastest centuries list has been refreshed with Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Heinrich Klaasen now sharing the third spot alongside Yusuf Pathan. Klaasen lit up the match against Kolkata Knight Riders on May 25, scoring a century off just 37 balls.

Klaasen’s Explosive Batting

Klaasen’s strike rate was a blistering 269.23. Other SRH players also shone: Abhishek Sharma scored at a strike rate of 200, and Travis Head played aggressively with a 190 strike rate. But it was Klaasen who stole the show—he remained unbeaten on 105 runs from 39 balls, hitting 9 sixes and 7 fours over 64 minutes.

Vaibhav’s Record Nearly Removed

Earlier, Vaibhav Suryavanshi had smashed a stormy century in just 35 balls during the IPL, breaking Yusuf Pathan’s Indian record and narrowly missing Chris Gayle’s all-time record of 30 balls.

Now, with Klaasen’s 37-ball century, Vaibhav’s record is at risk of being bumped down, as Klaasen matched Yusuf Pathan’s 37-ball mark, just 2 balls slower than Vaibhav’s 35-ball feat.

SRH’s Huge Win Over KKR

In that game, Sunrisers Hyderabad dominated Kolkata Knight Riders by a massive 110 runs.
