8th Pay Commission: Important update on the 8th Pay Commission, 5 major demands of central employees; major decision to be made in July

This is very important news for government employees. Currently, heated discussions are underway between employees and pensioners regarding the Eighth Pay Commission. All organizations have submitted their demands by June 15th, and everyone is watching the Commission's decision. An important update has emerged.

The National Council-Joint Consultative Machinery (NC-JCM), representing employee unions, isn't just demanding a salary increase this time. It's also raising several pending service condition issues with the Commission. Since these demands have been forwarded by the Cabinet Secretary, they are likely to be discussed in future meetings.

Employees' unions have demanded a five-year pension review. They also demanded that the Fixed Medical Allowance (FMA) provided to pensioners be made more beneficial, not reduced by increasing the pension.

They also expressed hope that the FMA for pensioners should be increased to ₹3,000 per month. Furthermore, they also demanded that the family pension provided to the family after the employee's death be made more beneficial without any reduction.

Another important demand is that the salaries of firefighters in the Central Department be equal to those of the Delhi Fire Service. There is also a demand for changes in the rules so that employees who receive promotions through the MACP scheme can fully benefit from salary fixation. The organizations have also stressed the widespread implementation of all the provisions of the Maternity Benefit Act for women employees. The issue of reinstating the old pension scheme has been raised. The Commission will hold meetings with various employee organizations on July 6-7 in Bhubaneswar and on July 9-10 in Kolkata.
