Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan is grieving. His makeup artist, Ashok Sawant, passed away on November 9th. Abhishek shared an old photo with him and penned an emotional note. He also revealed that Ashok had been ill for the past few years, but he still did his makeup.

Abhishek shared a photo with his makeup artist Ashok Sawant and wrote on Instagram, "Ashok Dada and I have worked together for over 27 years. He's been doing my makeup since my first film. He wasn't just a part of my team, he was a part of my family. His elder brother, Deepak, has been my father's makeup man for almost 50 years. He's been ill for the past few years, so he couldn't always be with me on set. But whenever I was shooting, there wasn't a single day when he wouldn't check in on me. He would make sure his assistant took care of my makeup. He was a very sweet, gentle, and friendly person. He always had a smile on his face. He always had some delicious savoury chivda or bhakar vada in his bag. We lost him last night."
Abhishek used to seek blessings from his makeup artist before shooting.
Abhishek further said, "Whenever I gave the first shot of a new film, he was the first person I would touch to seek his blessings. From now on, I will have to look up to heaven and know that you will be looking down and blessing me. Dada, thank you for your love, your care, your dignity, your talent, and your smile. My heart breaks when I think about going to work without you. I pray that you rest in peace, and I look forward to hugging you when we meet again. Rest in peace and happiness, Ashok Sawant."
