Agri Tips: Apply this 'yellow solution' to the gourd plant; the vine will be laden with fruits and flowers, resulting in bumper yield

Bottle gourd farming: Simply make this natural yellow solution from your kitchen and spray it on the vine. Within a few days, you'll see large, green, and fresh bottle gourds hanging from your vine. This free yellow solution not only protects the gourds from rotting but also keeps the soil healthy.

If you grow vegetables on your rooftop or balcony, you've likely noticed this problem—gourd vines produce fruit, but within a few days, the small fruits turn black or rot and fall off. As a result, not a single large gourd forms on the vine. Many people attribute this to poor soil or watering, but the real cause is something else.

According to gardening expert Sanjay Rathi, the main causes of gourd fruit drop are insect attacks and fungus. Insects like fruit flies lay eggs in young fruits, causing them to rot and drop prematurely. Expensive chemical pesticides available on the market may solve this problem, but they harm both the plants and the soil.

Sanjay Rathi says the simplest and most natural solution is a free yellow solution made from ingredients found in your kitchen. This solution not only repels insects but also eradicates the fungus, allowing the gourd vine to bear abundant fruit.

First, chop neem and oleander leaves into small pieces and put them in a mixer. Add garlic, green chilies, and a little water and grind them thoroughly. Mix this paste with 2 liters of water and add turmeric powder. Cover and let the mixture sit for 24 hours to allow all the ingredients to mix well. The next day, strain it and pour it into a spray bottle.

Spray this yellow solution lightly on the gourd vine once or twice a week. Pay particular attention to the area around the fruit and the underside of the leaves. If fungus or small insects are already visible on the vine, spray twice, two days apart. Within a few weeks, you will notice the vine regaining its vitality, and the small fruits growing larger, greener, and brighter without rotting.

Neem and oleander leaves have antifungal and antibacterial properties that prevent mold and harmful insects. Garlic and green chilies contain elements like sulfur and capsaicin, which repel insects. Turmeric is a natural fungicide that increases plant resistance to disease. This solution forms a natural protective shield between the plant's roots and fruits. This prevents fruit rot, improves plant growth, and ensures continued fruit production on the vine.

Many home gardeners report that using this solution has shown positive results not only on gourds but also on vine vegetables like ridge gourd, ridge gourd, bitter gourd, and cucumber. Pest infestation has been reduced, fruit size has increased, and yields have increased by approximately 30 to 40 percent. So, the next time your gourd vines see small fruits turning black and falling off, don't waste money on expensive pesticides.
