The HRCB has documented widespread human rights violations in Balochistan, including 123 enforced disappearances and 26 killings by Pakistan-backed death squads and security forces in August.
At least four Baloch civilians have been forcibly disappeared by the Pakistani army in Balochistan, a leading Pakistani human rights organisation said on Tuesday (September 30, 2025), as the cycle of persecution continues amid a growing wave of enforced disappearances across the province.
The Baloch National Movement's human rights department, PANK, reported that on September 27, Pakistani security forces abducted two residents of Gilli Buleda in Kech district. Murad Jan, a daily wage laborer, was forcibly disappeared while on his way to his farm, while Abdul Hakim was abducted from his home in the same area. Two days later, on September 29, Sher Ali, a shopkeeper from Gardank in Kech district's Buleda tehsil, was also forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces, the human rights organization reported.
Arj Muhammad missing from Buleda
On Tuesday, Nizar Arz Muhammad, a driver engaged in cross-border trade and a resident of Parum in Panjgur district, was forcibly disappeared by Pakistani security forces from Buleda, and his whereabouts are unknown. "These repeated abductions highlight the ongoing trend of enforced disappearances in Balochistan, targeting civilians without due process or accountability," Pank said.
Death squads fired bullets
Highlighting the atrocities being committed against Baloch civilians, Pank said that on Monday, members of a Pakistan-backed death squad opened fire in the Jhain area of Panjgur, injuring two local residents. Citing local sources, the human rights organization reported that the attackers arrived in an Iranian-made Toyota car and opened fire indiscriminately. The injured were identified as Yusuf and Uzair, who are in critical condition.
123 kidnappings, 26 murders in August
Recently, the Balochistan Human Rights Council (HRCB) has documented widespread human rights violations in Balochistan, including 123 enforced disappearances and 26 killings by Pakistan-backed death squads and security forces in the month of August.
106 people missing, 12 released
In its report, the HRCB detailed that 123 cases of enforced disappearances were registered in August 2025. Of these, 106 individuals remain missing, 12 have been released, and five were extrajudicially killed while in custody. The people of Balochistan are currently fighting for their independence from Pakistan.
Various human rights organizations in Balochistan have repeatedly exposed the repression carried out by the Pakistani military in the province, including violent raids on the homes of Baloch leaders and civilians, illegal arrests, enforced disappearances, the 'kill and dump' policy, detention under the Maintenance of Public Order Ordinance, and the filing of fabricated police cases.
