Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar is ruling the box office as well as the hearts of people. From Akshaye Khanna to Arjun Rampal , each character in Ranveer Singh's film has gained a new identity. Joining this cast was comedian Sunil Grover , who nearly missed out on being a part of this excellent film.

The casting of 'Dhurandhar' took more than a year.

Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar has been praised for presenting both well-known and lesser-known actors in completely different avatars, a creative decision that casting director Mukesh  Chhabra says was aimed at surprising the audience. Both critics and audiences have praised Ranveer Singh's portrayal of undercover spy Hamza Ali Mazari in the spy  thriller , as well as its star-studded  supporting  cast , which includes R Madhavan  as Indian spymaster Ajay Sanyal , Sanjay Dutt as SP Chaudhary Aslam , Akshaye Khanna  as Rehman the dacoit and Arjun Rampal as  ISI Major Iqbal .

Mukesh said in an interview, "I always think about how to surprise people and make the casting more interesting, fun, and fresh . That's what I wanted to do with this film. People were expecting a twist in this film, so I wanted to twist things up with the casting . Everyone should feel that this was a well-thought-out effort and that we did n't just cast anyone. "

Sunil was the first choice for this role .

He said, "We held a lot of auditions for the roles of Donga and Alam , and that's why the process took 1-1.5 years because you have to see what the performance  will be like , and how it can surprise people ." Mukesh said that he also considered casting Sunil Grover for the role of Alam, but ultimately decided to cast Gera .

 Overall, Mukesh said that Dhurandhar is a film he will always be proud of and the kind of love and enthusiasm he has received for the film is unmatched. He said, "I have done a lot in the last one year, Tere Ishq Mein, Delhi Crime , The Family  Man 3, Maharani, and many more. But the love I am getting for Dhurandhar is similar to what I got for  Gangs of Wasseypur , Kai Po Che and Bajrangi Bhaijaan ."
