A Glimpse into Halloween’s Origins
The Halloween festival dates back nearly 2,000 years, originating in Ireland and Scotland. It marked the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter. The Celts believed that on the night of October 31st, the boundary between the living and the spirit world blurred, allowing spirits to return to Earth. People lit bonfires and wore scary masks to ward off evil spirits. Later, with the spread of Christianity, the festival became known as All Hallows’ Eve — now celebrated as Halloween.
