IND vs AUS Women’s ODI: Australia Whitewash India 3–0 as Alyssa Healy Signs Off with a Stunning Century

The Women’s ODI series in Australia turned into a nightmare for the reigning world champions, as Australia Women completed a dominant 3–0 clean sweep over India Women. The final match, played in Hobart on Sunday, March 1, saw the hosts register a massive 185-run victory.

Australia piled up a mammoth 409 runs, before bowling India out for 224, sealing the series in emphatic fashion. The match also marked the emotional end of legendary Australian captain Alyssa Healy’s ODI career, which she capped with a breathtaking century.

Healy’s farewell fireworks, Mooney’s masterclass

Having already announced that this would be her final ODI series, Alyssa Healy ensured her farewell would be unforgettable. Opening the innings, she launched a brutal assault on the Indian bowling attack, helping Australia cross 100 runs inside 16 overs.

Healy reached her fifty in 49 balls and went on to complete her century in just 79 balls. She eventually walked back after scoring a sensational 158 off 98 deliveries, smashing 27 fours and 2 sixes along the way.

Once India began to recover from Healy’s onslaught, Beth Mooney took charge. Mooney remained unbeaten on 106, guiding Australia past the 400-run mark. Georgia Voll added 62 runs, while Nicola Carey provided a late flourish with 34 off 15 balls. For India, Sneh Rana was the most successful bowler, picking up 2 wickets for 66 runs.

Indian batting collapses again

Chasing a record target of 410, India’s hopes were dented early when Smriti Mandhana was dismissed for a duck in the second over. Pratika Rawal and Jemimah Rodrigues briefly revived the innings with a positive partnership, but after Rawal’s dismissal for 62, wickets began to fall at regular intervals.

India were eventually bowled out for 224 in 45.1 overs, marking their third consecutive batting failure in the series.

Series to forget for India, perfect farewell for Healy

The comprehensive loss highlighted India’s struggles with both bat and ball, while Australia underlined their dominance on home soil. For Alyssa Healy, it was a storybook ending — a blistering century, a series whitewash, and a legacy sealed as one of the greatest wicketkeeper-batters in women’s cricket history.
