LPG Crisis: Gas agencies alert customers, new update on delivery also comes

Amidst the nationwide LPG gas shortage, PM Modi has called for reducing the use of petrol, diesel, and gas. Meanwhile, major changes have been made regarding the delivery of gas cylinders. Companies like HP, Indane, and Bharat Gas are now asking customers for a delivery authentication code before delivering cylinders. This new system has been introduced to ensure customer safety and accurate delivery.

What is the new system?
DAC is a security code, or OTP, that is sent to the customer's registered mobile number after booking the cylinder. This code must be shared with the delivery person when they arrive at your home with the gas cylinder. Delivery is considered complete only after the code matches.

What is its purpose?
This system aims to prevent the wrong delivery of gas cylinders and increase transparency. This ensures that cylinders reach the correct customers and keeps records secure.

Why did HP Gas alert its customers?

HP Gas has recently advised its customers to be cautious through its social media handle X. According to the company, many fraudsters are sending fake LPG delivery messages and asking for OTP from people, hence, before trusting any message, definitely check it.
