LPG eKYC: If you book a cylinder, it won't be rebooked... so do this immediately! Otherwise...

If you are trying to book a domestic LPG cylinder, it will not be booked. However, you will have to do IKYC. Otherwise, your gas connection may be cancelled completely. Right now, many people are trying to book gas, but it is not happening. Because of this, they are making rounds of all the agencies. The agencies say that the gas will be booked only if you do IKYC. Although the deadline for IKYC ended on August 16, but the deadline has been extended for another week. If you do not do IKYC for the gas connection by then, it is being said that the gas connection will be cancelled.

However, consumers are trying to complete IKYC all at once. This causes server downtime for hours, crashes apps, overloads the digital infrastructure, and makes this process, which should be simple, take a long time. Many people are lining up at gas agencies for IKYC. There are long lines at LPG dealerships, and by the time they reach the counter, the servers are down. The entire e-KYC process depends on the digital infrastructure of oil marketing companies.

If their servers are down, or their apps are working slowly, no work can proceed, no matter how many staff are at the counter or how many customers bring the correct documents. That's why customers are demanding an extension of the deadline. In the case of dealers, a single server failure can halt their entire work. Even now, if the servers and apps are not working properly, it is being said that completing e-KYC for gas connections by August 23 will be difficult. However, even if the deadline is extended to August 23, many people will still not be able to complete e-KYC.

However, it is being said that e-KYC can be done from home using a smartphone. In the case of a Hindustan Petroleum connection, you will need to download the HPPay app along with the Aadhaar FaceRD app from the Play Store. You will need to enter the registered mobile number in the app, enter the OTP, and log in. Then, go to the My HP section on the homepage and click on the LPG option. Then, scan your face, and e-KYC will be completed. Those with a Bharat connection can download the Hello BPCL along with the Aadhaar FaceRD app and get e-KYC done.
