How to apply for PAN card

  1. To make PAN card online, first go to the official website of NSDL.
  2. Then, go to the 'Apply Online' tab on the website and select New PAN - Indian Citizen (Form 49A). Be sure to select Individual under the category.
  3. Now enter your personal details like surname, first name, date of birth, email ID and mobile number.
  4. After this, enter the captcha code and submit it. You will then receive a token number; note it down. Keep in mind that this token number is useful if your form remains incomplete for some reason.
  5. Then, complete the OTP verification using your Aadhaar card. This eliminates the need to upload a separate photo or signature.
  6. Then, enter your father's name, address, etc. If you select the e-KYC option, the Aadhaar address will be automatically captured.
  7. After this pay the PAN card fee online.
  8. After making the payment, perform Aadhaar authentication. You will receive an OTP on your Aadhaar-linked mobile number. After entering the OTP, your form will be submitted.

These documents will be required from April 1

According to a CSCeGov post on X starting April 1st, a birth certificate, voter ID card, 10th-grade marksheet or certificate, driving license, affidavit certified by a magistrate, passport, etc. will be required to obtain a PAN card.
