Delayed vehicle pickup is common
Tourists often complain that jeeps or canters arrive late at their hotels. This happens because the Forest Department allocates vehicles and guides through a roster system while issuing boarding passes. These passes are generated only on the day of the safari and include the assigned vehicle number and guide’s name.
After receiving the roster, drivers must collect passengers from various hotels, which can lead to delays.

Why do vehicles arrive late?
• Canters carry up to 20 passengers, often staying in different hotels, so pickup takes longer.
• Hotels located inside villages or interior roads take more time to reach.
• Sometimes the Forest Department’s server slows down, delaying the issuance of boarding passes.
• Those who book private jeeps or canters typically do not face this issue.

Safari zones in Ranthambore
Ranthambore has 10 safari zones, and you can choose one during booking. However, zones fill quickly and may not always be available. The Forest Department may also close zones without prior notice for wildlife protection. Additionally, five zones remain closed during the monsoon season.
