PM Kisan Yojana: Can both husband and wife avail the benefits of PM Kisan Yojana? You should also know the complete details

The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is an ambitious scheme of the Government of India. Its objective is to provide financial assistance to small and marginal farmers in the country. Under this scheme, an amount of ₹6,000 is transferred annually to eligible farmers' bank accounts in three equal installments. So far, 22 installments have been released. Currently, millions of beneficiary farmers are eagerly awaiting the 23rd installment.

Do both husband and wife receive installments?
Many families often wonder whether both husband and wife can benefit from this scheme separately. According to government rules for the PM Kisan Yojana, only one member of a farmer's family can benefit from this scheme. Under this scheme, a family refers to the husband, wife, and their minor children. If both husband and wife register and receive money under this scheme, it is considered a violation of the rules.

The main eligibility criteria are
that the beneficiary must own cultivable land and have updated land records (bhu-lekh).
All farmers are required to complete their e-KYC to continue receiving benefits.
Linking their bank account to Aadhaar and activating the DBT option is mandatory.
