Rajasthan News: Petrol pump operators in Rajasthan have announced a strike on June 1. Dealers will protest against the government and oil companies over expensive petrol and diesel prices, high VAT, and the supply crisis.
Petrol pump operators in Rajasthan have announced a statewide strike on June 1st. The Petroleum Dealers Association says that rising costs, the arbitrary actions of oil companies, and the high cost of fuel are causing significant losses for petrol pump operators. If the government and oil companies do not find a solution soon, protests will be held by closing petrol pumps across the state.
According to the association, protests will also be held in various districts on the day of the strike. This decision has raised concerns among the public, as the closure of petrol pumps could impact transportation and everyday life.
Rajasthan's fuel is costlier than neighboring states
Petrol pump operators say that petrol and diesel prices in Rajasthan are significantly higher than in neighboring states. This is largely due to the high VAT imposed by the state government. Due to the high prices, people are traveling to neighboring states to refuel, leading to a steady decline in sales at Rajasthan's petrol pumps.
Dealers say many petrol pumps are facing financial difficulties due to declining sales. The situation is said to be worse in smaller towns and rural areas, where customer numbers are already limited.
Problems in supply are increasing the problems of the people
The association has also accused oil companies of negligence in supply. They say that adequate quantities of petrol and diesel are not reaching many areas. Companies are providing limited supplies, resulting in long queues at many petrol pumps.
This situation has created panic among the public. Many are trying to fill up more fuel than usual. At the same time, petrol pump employees and operators are also facing the wrath of angry customers.
Petrol pump operators say their expenses are constantly rising. Electricity bills, employee salaries, security, machine maintenance, and other expenses are constantly increasing, but they are not being given any relief in commissions.
Dealers allege that oil companies are imposing their conditions and their concerns are not being heard. They say that many pump operators are finding it increasingly difficult to operate their businesses.
4 day ultimatum given to the government
The Petroleum Dealers Association has written to Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and Civil Supplies Minister Sumit Godara, demanding a swift resolution. The association has given the government a four-day ultimatum.
Association officials say that if a decision on their demands is not made soon, petrol pumps across Rajasthan will be closed on June 1. The agitation may also continue.
If a strike occurs, it could have the greatest impact on ordinary people, farmers, the transport sector, and markets. Shortages of petrol and diesel could disrupt the movement of buses, trucks, and private vehicles.
Dealers say that if the government reduces VAT on petrol and diesel, the general public will directly benefit. Lower fuel prices will also impact inflation and provide relief to business activities.
Now, all eyes are on the state government's next move. The decisions made by the government and oil companies in the coming days will determine whether petrol pumps in Rajasthan will remain open or closed on June 1st.
