The Home Ministry has implemented the Immigration and Foreigners Act 2025 from September 1, 2025. This Act will take strict action against illegal foreigners. The Bureau of Immigration has been given powers, there is a provision for strict punishment for the use of fake documents. States will have to create a database of foreigners and make it available to the Bureau, which will make better monitoring possible. This will strengthen the security and law and order of the country.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has implemented the rules of the Immigration and Foreigners Act 2025 from September 1, 2025, which aims to take strict action against foreign nationals living illegally in India. This bill was passed in Parliament in April 2025 and now its notification has been issued by the ministry. Under the new rules, the Bureau of Immigration has been further empowered, so that it can monitor and control foreign nationals more effectively. The Home Ministry has made it clear that these rules will come into force with immediate effect, so that the internal security and legal system of the country can be strengthened.

Under this, the Bureau of Immigration has been given special powers to monitor foreign nationals in India and take necessary legal action against them. According to these new rules, if any foreign national enters India in violation of the rules, then the Bureau of Immigration will have the constitutional right to deport him from the country. For this, they will coordinate with the concerned state governments and agencies. Apart from this, if the movement of any foreign national is found in any institution, such as a hotel, educational institution or any other place under any illegal activity, then his registration will be cancelled with immediate effect.

Strict punishment and fines for use of forged documents

If a person uses a fake passport, visa or any other document to stay in the country or go out of the country, he will be punished with a minimum of two years of imprisonment. And a fine of one to ten lakh rupees can also be imposed. This bill was brought in the Parliament with the aim of curbing those foreign citizens who are living illegally in India under the guise of Indian visa and passport.

Under this, the concerned agencies will maintain state level database of foreign nationals and will keep providing this information to the Bureau of Immigration from time to time so that such cases can be closely monitored and necessary action can be taken on them.
