When withdrawing money from an ATM, only 500, 200, and 100 rupee notes come out. But why are 10, 20, or 50 rupee notes not available? This question is often asked. Is this the reason for the shortage of notes in the country? This question was raised in the Rajya Sabha. Responding to this question, Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary said that there is no shortage of these notes in circulation.

Chaudhary told the House on Tuesday that a pilot project has been launched to distribute low-denomination notes through low-denomination note distributors. Demand for low-denomination currency is met through a mix of notes and coins. Digital payments have also become an important part of transactions.
