Pakistan's Defense Minister Khawaja Asif stated that Saudi Arabia would support Pakistan in the event of war with India. The agreement is based on strategic mutual defense cooperation.
Numerous questions are being raised about the defense deal between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, ranging from nuclear technology transfer to Israeli attacks and an India-Pakistan war. Meanwhile, Pakistan's Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has claimed that if a war breaks out between India and Pakistan, Saudi Arabia will also be involved.
Khawaja Asif said on Friday (September 19, 2025) that Saudi Arabia would defend Pakistan if India declared war against its neighbor. Responding to a question on this, Khawaja Asif said, "Yes, absolutely. There is no doubt about it."
Khawaja Asif said this big thing
Khawaja Asif likened it to NATO's Article 5, which states that an attack on one member is considered an attack on all. The Pakistani minister also clarified that the agreement with Saudi Arabia is defensive, not offensive. He said, "If there is any aggression, whether against Saudi Arabia or Pakistan, we will fight it together."
Khawaja Asif also confirmed that Pakistan's nuclear weapons would be available to Saudi Arabia if needed, although Pakistan's official policy states that they can only be used against India. He said, "Our capabilities will absolutely be available under this agreement." He also pointed out that Pakistan has always allowed inspections of its nuclear installations and has never violated the rules.
A senior Saudi official gave this information
A senior Saudi official said the agreement is a comprehensive defense pact covering all military means. The mutual defense agreement was signed this week during Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif's visit to Riyadh. A key clause of the agreement states that any attack on either country will be considered an attack on both countries.
