Prime Minister Narendra Modi returned to India after visiting Japan and China. At Semicon India 2025, he emphasized on critical minerals for digital infrastructure. PM Modi said that India is working on the next phase of the semiconductor mission. Referring to the 7.8% growth in the economy, he said that India has performed better than all expectations.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi returned to India on Monday (September 1, 2025) after visiting Japan and China. Today on Tuesday (September 2, 2025), he participated in the Semicon India 2025 program. During this, PM Modi's humorous style was also seen.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi started his speech with a light-hearted comment. In fact, during the address, PM Modi mentioned the visit to both the countries and said, "Last night only I have returned after completing my visit to Japan and China." After this people started clapping. On this Prime Minister Modi said, "Are you all clapping because I went there or because I have returned?"

'Work is being done on the mission of semiconductors'

PM Modi said that critical minerals are the basis of digital infrastructure and the country has started working on the Critical Minerals Mission and is committed to meeting the growing demand for rare earth minerals. "We are working on the next phase of the India Semiconductor Mission," Mr Modi said.

He said that the day is not far when the smallest chip made in India will bring the biggest change in the world. Prime Minister Modi said, "The government is going to give shape to the new DLI (Design-Linked Incentive) scheme."

'India performed better than expected'

In a veiled rebuttal to the 'dead economy' jibe, Mr Modi said the Indian economy grew at 7.8% in the first quarter, exceeding all expectations despite global uncertainties and challenges driven by economic selfishness. "Once again, India has outperformed every expectation, every estimate and every forecast," Modi said.
