Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has taken swift action over a controversial circular related to electricity supply for farmers. Emphasizing that farmers’ welfare remains his government’s top priority, the Chief Minister ordered the immediate cancellation of the circular and the removal of the Chief Engineer responsible for issuing it.

In a message released to the media on Wednesday, Dr. Yadav said that his government is fully committed to ensuring uninterrupted power supply for farmers. “Our government stands with the farmers. They will continue to receive 10 hours of continuous electricity supply under all circumstances,” he said, assuring that no negligence would be tolerated in matters affecting the farming community.

CM urges public not to be misled
Dr. Yadav clarified that the circular, which had created confusion and public outrage, has been withdrawn with immediate effect. “The people of the state should not harbor any misunderstanding. Strict action has already been taken against the officer involved,” he stated.

Farmer-friendly government
Reiterating his government’s pro-farmer stance, the Chief Minister said that Madhya Pradesh is governed by a “sensitive and farmer-friendly administration.” He added that several major initiatives have been undertaken to promote the welfare and progress of farmers. “The controversial order has been revoked, and legal action is being initiated against the official who issued it,” Dr. Yadav confirmed.

Background
The controversy erupted after an internal circular from the state electricity company stated that if farmers were provided power for more than 10 hours, the salaries of the concerned officials would be deducted. The directive drew widespread criticism from farmer groups and the public, forcing the Chief Minister to step in personally.
