Pakistani Major Muiz Killed in Terrorist Attack in South Waziristan

 

  • Major Muiz, a senior officer of Pakistan Army’s elite Special Service Group (SSG), was killed by terrorists of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) near Sargoga, South Waziristan.

  • The attack also claimed the life of Lance Naik Jibranullah, another army personnel.

  • Major Muiz belonged to the 6th Commando Battalion and was originally from Chakwal, Pakistan.

  • He gained notoriety during India-Pakistan tensions in 2019 when he claimed to have captured Indian Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman.
