Wearing artificial jewellery is stylish, but after some time, it starts turning black and its shine fades. Sweat, dust, perfume, and moisture reduce the shine of jewellery. Often, people think that now this jewellery is become useless, but the truth is that there is no need to throw it away. With some easy and cheap home remedies available at home, you can turn your old jewellery into shiny jewellery with golden finish in 10–15 minutes.
These remedies are so easy that anyone can make their jewellery look new in a budget of just ₹15 to ₹200 without using complex chemicals or expensive products. Now your jewellery will look stylish, shiny and attractive again.
1.Cleaning with toothpaste
Apply some white toothpaste on a clean cloth or brush. Rub it gently on the jewellery for 1–2 minutes. Then wash it with lukewarm water and wipe it with a dry cloth.
Benefits: The outer black layer of the jewellery gets removed and the shine returns instantly.

2.Deep Cleaning with Baking Soda and Lemon Paste
Make a paste by adding 4-5 drops of lemon to a teaspoon of baking soda. Apply it on the jewellery for 3-4 minutes. Scrub it gently with an old brush and wash it with water.
Benefits: Stubborn and deep black deposits are easily removed.

3.Deep Cleaning with Detergent and Vinegar
Mix 1 teaspoon of liquid detergent and half a teaspoon vinegar in 1 glass of warm water. Soak the jewellery for 10–15 minutes. Clean with a mild brush and wash.

Cost: Detergent ₹5, vinegar around ₹10.
4.Alum and Salt Hot Water Hack
Heat a bowl of water by adding half a teaspoon of salt and a small piece of alum. Dip the jewellery in it for 5–7 minutes. Wash with clean water and dry.
Benefits: Bad odor, rust and black stains are all removed.
5.Jewelry Polishing Cloth
Rub the jewellery with a polishing cloth for 1–2 minutes. The polish liquid present in it gives a new layer-like finish on the surface of the jewellery.
