Traveling home for Holi just got easier, with 3 more pairs of special trains announced, and confirmed tickets available.

Holi Special Train: In view of the massive rush of passengers on Holi, Indian Railways has further expanded the scope of special trains. A total of 52 special trains have been announced so far, with the timetables for three pairs of trains, including the Patna-Puri train, released on Monday.

Holi Special Train : In view of the huge rush of passengers and long waiting lists during Holi, Indian Railways has provided significant relief. The Railways has so far announced the operation of a total of 52 Holi special trains, and on Monday, the timetables for three new trains, including Patna-Puri and Anand Vihar, were released.

The Chief Public Relations Officer of East Central Railway said that the new special trains will connect Bihar with Odisha, Delhi and Gujarat, which will increase the chances of long distance passengers getting confirmed seats.

Here is the list of special trains

  1. The 08439 Puri-Patna Special will depart Puri at 2:55 PM every Saturday from February 28th to March 28th, arriving in Patna at 10:45 AM the next day. The 08440 Patna-Puri Special will depart Patna at 1:30 PM every Sunday from March 1st to 29th, arriving in Puri the next morning.
  2. 09031 Udhna-Hasanpur Road Special will leave Udhna at 11:25 hrs every Sunday from 22 February to 29 March and will reach Hasanpur Road station at 8:00 hrs the next day, stopping at Patliputra at 14:15 hrs. 09032 Hasanpur Road-Udhna Special will leave Hasanpur Road station at 9:45 hrs every Monday from 23 February to 30 March and will reach Udhna at 5:00 hrs the next day, stopping at Patliputra at 02:15 hrs.
  3. 03009 Dankuni - Anand Vihar Special will leave Dankuni at 12:20 on February 28 and March 7, stopping at Nawada at 09:13 and Gaya at 10:35 and will reach Anand Vihar at 11:00 the next day. 030310 Anand Vihar - Dankuni will leave Anand Vihar at 5:00 on March 1 and 8, stopping at Gaya at 11:45 the next day and will reach Dankuni at 10:00.

Railways believes that there is maximum demand of passengers on this route, hence regular weekly special service has been started.

Facility increased on Delhi route also

The Dankuni-Anand Vihar and Malda-Anand Vihar special trains will provide relief to passengers traveling from Bihar to Delhi. These trains will stop at Gaya, Kiul, and other major stations. Additional trains to Delhi will provide direct connectivity to travelers from North Bihar and the Jharkhand region.

Railway sources say that there is maximum pressure on the Delhi route every year during Holi, hence special arrangements have been made.

Trains will also connect Gujarat and North Bihar

The Udhna-Hasanpur Road special trains will provide a direct link between Gujarat and North Bihar. Stops at Patliputra and Muzaffarpur will provide additional options for travelers in North Bihar.

Railway officials say that if the demand of passengers increases further, then more special trains can also be announced.
