Rajasthan: Big blow to Congress before assembly elections, Jyoti Mirdha joins BJP
Before the assembly elections in Rajasthan, Congress has suffered a big blow and the blow is also not light. This is because Jyoti Mirdha, who was an MP from Congress party, has joined BJP. Mirdha's family has been associated with Congress for years. But Jyoti Mirdha has made this move in the game of defection before the elections.
According to media reports, Jyoti Mirdha, granddaughter of former Nagaur MP and veteran leader Nathuram Mirdha, has joined the party in Delhi. Mirdha joined the party in the presence of Rajasthan BJP President CP Joshi. Along with him, former IPS Sawai Singh has also joined BJP.
Jyoti Mirdha's joining BJP is being seen as a big blow for Congress. This is because the Mirdha family is considered dominant in the Jat community and this community plays an important role in the assembly or Lok Sabha elections. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Congress had fielded Jyoti Mirdha from Nagaur seat but she had to face defeat in front of Hanuman Beniwal.
