Rahul Gandhi will visit the US amid the election atmosphere, and will meet the Indian community

Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is going to visit America next week. This will be his first visit since he was appointed to this post. The purpose of this visit is to interact with people of Indian origin, students, businessmen, think tanks, and local leaders. Sam Pitroda, President of the Indian Overseas Congress of Congress, has shared information about this visit.

Rahul Gandhi will reach Dallas, America on 8 September, where he will interact with the students and teachers of the University of Texas. Apart from this, Rahul Gandhi will also meet the local Indian community and some technical experts. His program in Dallas will end with a dinner, in which he will interact with local leaders.

Traveling during election season

Rahul Gandhi will be in Washington DC on 9 and 10 September, where he will interact with different people. This visit is taking place at a time when the campaign for the US presidential election is at its peak.

Sam Pitroda, President of the Indian Overseas Congress, shared information about Rahul Gandhi's upcoming US visit. He said that Rahul will visit Dallas, Texas on September 2 and Washington DC on September 9 and 10. He further said, 'The Indian diaspora community which includes our NRI brothers and sisters, technocrats, business leaders, students, media fraternity and political leaders are looking forward to welcoming Rahul Gandhi and interacting with him'.

Why is the trip considered special?

This visit of Rahul Gandhi is considered important for the Indian community because he has been trying to communicate with Indians living abroad for some time now. Earlier, he had visited America in June last year, where he interacted with Indian students in San Francisco. At that time he also held a press conference and interacted with the people of the Indian community.

First foreign trip after being appointed Leader of the Opposition

The importance of this tour also increases because Rahul Gandhi has recently been appointed the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha. From 2014 to 2024, there was no leader in this post because the opposition parties did not have enough MPs. But after the number of seats of the Congress party increased in the recent elections, Rahul Gandhi has got this post.
