A Delhi court has sentenced a man to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment for raping a minor girl. He used to pick up and drop the victim to school. In 2018, the man raped the minor girl not once but multiple times. The court convicted him of the crime.

Additional Sessions Judge Balwinder Singh was hearing arguments in the case of the 44-year-old driver who was convicted under Section 6 of the POCSO Act. The court awarded him this harsh punishment and said he did not deserve any sympathy.

The court had given this verdict on October 19, in which it has been informed that 'In the present case, the victim is a minor girl and at the time of the crime, she was only 3.5 years old. She was sexually assaulted several times between August 2018 and October 23, 2018. Despite being an adult, the person did not hesitate to commit a heinous crime against the minor.

Apart from the 20-year jail term, the court also imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on the convict and awarded a compensation of Rs 1.2 lakh to the minor victim.
