Junk dealer Faizan's shop is in Brij Vihar Colony near the Surya Nagar area of ​​Link Road police station area. Local people informed that there used to be a gathering of mischievous boys at his shop every day at the time when girls and women used to come and go near the shop. Those people used to tease the women and girls passing by there. They say that people have complained about this to the police many times.

Family members alleged gang rape

After the arrest of accused Faizan, the family had accused him of gangraping a minor. The victim's cousin had informed the police about this. On this, the police said that the victim's family had first accused Faizan, a junk dealer. The incident took place on 28 August. When a complaint was made to the police the next day, the police took action registered a case, and immediately arrested the accused. The police also recorded the victim's statement under section 164 in the court on 30 August.

The crowd created a ruckus, cases were filed against more than 250 people

Accusing the victim of gang rape, her family and local people demanded the arrest of the accused. During this, the angry mob carried out incidents of vandalism and arson. The rioters did not stop there, they surrounded the Surya Nagar Chowki in the late evening of 29 August and started creating a ruckus. The police had to use force to clear the road from the crowd of people. The police have registered a report against more than 250 unknown people in Link Road police station on charges of arson, vandalism, blocking the road, and disturbing the peace. The DCP says that these rioters will be identified and legal action will be taken in this case.

Rumors of the victim's death are being spread

The DCP said that rumors are being spread on social media about the rape incident that took place in the Thana Link Road area. He said that messages are being circulated and tweeted in some groups that the victim died 24 hours ago and protests are going on in Thana Sahibabad and Thana Link Road areas.

The police issued a statement saying that the victim was safe and was with her family. The DCP said that information will be collected about those who are spreading these rumours and after identifying them, legal action will be taken by registering a case under relevant sections.
