Necessary ingredients
- 2 cups sprouted moong dal
- 1 teaspoon tamarind pulp
- 1 potato, finely chopped
- 1-2 onions, finely chopped
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp roasted cumin powder
- 1 tsp garam masala powder
- 3 tsp red chili powder
- 1-2 green chilies, finely chopped
- 1 chopped tomato, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 2 cups water
- 10-12 curry leaves
- 2 tsp oil
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- a pinch of asafoetida
Salt as per taste
Material for decoration
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 tsp chopped coriander
- 1 cup sev
- lemon slices
Recipe
First, wash and filter the sprouted lentils and then mix it with chopped potatoes, tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt, a pinch of asafoetida and three cups of water and cook it in the cooker till 3 whistles.
Now heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds and cumin seeds to it.
When the cumin starts crackling, add asafoetida and curry leaves to it and after some time add chopped onion and stir it.
When the onion turns light brown, add salt and sugar to it.
Now stir it by adding ginger-garlic paste and then add all the remaining spices and mix it well.
When the spices are mixed, add tamarind pulp to it and let it cook for some time.
Now add boiled sprouted moong and stir. If the gravy is less then water can be added to it. Cook it till the gravy thickens.
Apply butter or oil on the loaf and bake it on both sides for 30 seconds.
Now take out the pav and gravy on a plate. Serve the gravy garnished with chopped onion, tomato, sev, lemon and chopped coriander.
