Haryana: Former minister Ranjit Chautala resigns, BJP makes plan to convince angry leaders
After the release of the first list of candidates for the Haryana assembly elections, many BJP leaders are angry. So far, many MLAs and former ministers have resigned. A new name has been added to this list, that of former power minister Ranjit Singh Chautala. Ranjit Singh Chautala is said to be angry for not getting a ticket. Ranjit was seeking a ticket from Rania. Ranjit Chautala had said that if BJP does not give me a ticket, I will contest as an independent.
Ranjit had won as an independent candidate from Rania assembly constituency last time. Later he joined BJP. He tried his luck from Hisar in this Lok Sabha election but was defeated.
Ranjit Singh Chautala won the 2019 assembly elections from Rania seat. He was contesting as an independent candidate. Earlier, Ranjit had to face defeat twice on a Congress ticket from Rania's seat.
After the new delimitation in 2009, Ranjit contested from Rania assembly seat but lost to Krishna Kamboj. He lost the election to Ramchandra Kamboj in 2014. In 2019, when Congress did not give him a ticket, he rebelled and contested as an independent and won.
What is BJP's plan?
On the other hand, the BJP is in a wait-and-watch mode regarding the resignation of the leaders. BJP will wait for 1-2 days and see the attitude of the angry leaders. The party is hopeful that many angry leaders will agree considering the party's big objective of returning to power for the third time. Local leaders of BJP and RSS will be deployed to convince those leaders whose displeasure remains.
