Railways is going to build the biggest bridge

India Biggest Rail Road Bridge: Indian Railways is going to build a huge bridge. The biggest bridge is going to be built on the Ganga River in Varanasi. This bridge will be special in itself, because there will be 4 railway tracks below and a 6-lane road above. The special railway bridge to be built on the Ganga River in Kashi has got approval from the cabinet. Indian Railways is going to build the country's largest rail-road bridge in the faith city of Banaras. The Union Cabinet has approved this project. This bridge to be built on the Ganga River will be equipped with many features in itself. This rail-road bridge will connect Banaras to Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay. Trains and vehicles will run simultaneously on this rail-road bridge to be built by the Railways.

Train and car will run together

This bridge to be built on the Ganga will connect Varanasi-Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay. This bridge will be built next to the Malviya Bridge which has been in existence for 137 years. The country's largest multi-tracking bridge will have a lifespan of 150 years. This bridge will have 4 railway tracks below and a 6-lane road above it, on which cars, buses and trucks will run.   

how much will it cost

In the cabinet meeting, Rs 2,642 crore has been approved for this road-rail bridge project. This project will be completed in 4 years. According to the cabinet release, with the help of this project, lakhs of people will get employment.

What will be the benefit of this project

This project will provide employment opportunities. It is estimated that the construction of this bridge will generate 10 lakh direct jobs. The existing network of Indian Railways will increase by about 30 kilometers. The construction of this bridge will reduce the transportation cost. It will also help in reducing congestion. Running trains and vehicles on the same bridge will reduce pollution. 24 million tons of additional cargo will be able to move on the road-cum-train bridge. It is estimated that 8 crore diesel can be saved every year from this bridge.
